Success
What does it mean to be successful?
A majority may answer this question with a specific amount of dollars made in mind. To me, though, success is being a cab driver.
I met this man a few days ago, who I can’t say that I know his name, though, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was Paul.
Paul was my cab driver to the airport — tall, heavy set, long, straw-like white hair that shown sparse on the crown of his head.
At first glance, I thought Paul to be chaotic, which also aligned with his driving ability.
At one point, he swerved into the lane over as a car was driving the opposing way towards us, as to Paul nonchalantly spoke, Whoops!
Motion sickness was a sentiment I hadn’t realized that I’d packed with me that morning.
Paul spoke to me in a way that was soothing and somewhat comforting to my spinning mind.
He told me a vague background story and briefly tapped into his days of travel, which instantly caught my curiosity.
“In the 80’s, me and a buddy bought a car over in Europe, nothing fancy, but she held out for about a year as we travelled around and lived from the car itself.”
Did you do any work over there?
