One of the greats once said, “all you must do is write one sentence a day and it will be enough.”

Inspired or not, over time you will have accumulated enough sentences to build on an idea or even find the slightest of inspiration within one when looking back. Each day in November I have committed myself to writing one sentence a day, whether great or awful, or even if it made sense, to keep a sense of motivation for writing, for keepsake when my inspiration needs a kick in the pants, and to clear out my head of some of the constant arbitrary chaos that often takes me over. I hadn’t began writing the time of day until a few days in, but will continue to for future sentences.

November 1st: Nothing screams poetic like a half-eaten pizza thrown on a bush.

November 2nd: I wish to read more books about birds. Then I could randomly state bird facts at any given moment…it would be grand.

November 3rd: I can’t wait to cry in Paris.

November 4th 4:59 a.m.: While listening to Claire de Lune by Classic Ocean; I picture myself in the guitar being played, I see the strings vibrate as they are plucked, the ocean racing towards me, and I am sitting at a coffee table about to sip my coffee as serenity unfolds.

November 5th 8:26 p.m.: Fighting the urge to keep you on my mind today.

November 6th 3:22 p.m.: Don’t think, just listen…to the outside, then the inside.

November 7th 1:58 p.m.: Danish is an intimidating language.

November 8th 9:31 p.m.: Thank you [, mind] for staying strong today.

November 9th 7:23 p.m.: I love singing loud to drown out my intrusive thoughts.

November 10th 4:01 p.m.: Today was a much-needed day to recharge and re-energize; feeling lighter than the morning had felt.

November 11th 1:45 p.m.: If there’s ever a need to start over [in life] again, I will shave my head and start over with everything.

November 12th 5:03 p.m.: Select your thoughts as deliberately as you would choose your outfit to kill.

November 13th 12:52 p.m.: Allowing my mind to destroy me today.

November 14th 8:24 p.m.: I’ve got a lot to learn.

November 17th 11:09 a.m.: I wish you’d say something; anything really.

November 18th 3:21 p.m.: Taking it as it comes.

November 19th 11:48 a.m.: If it be destined to constantly be choosing between back and forth, I don’t want it.

November 20th 10:50 p.m.: But we can never just have one bottle of champagne.

November 21st 12:33 p.m.: Made it this far, might as well keep on going.

November 22nd 11:31 a.m.: Some of you didn’t listen when Michael Jackson said “don’t go around breaking young girls’ hearts” and it shows.

November 23rd 2:04 pm: Maybe now isn’t the time, but God, do I wish it was.

November 24th 4:52 a.m.: If we could right now, would you kiss me if I asked you to?

November 25th 4:14 p.m.: I didn’t plan to nap all day, but I guess my body knew I needed something that I wasn’t aware of.

November 26th 12:14 p.m.: I’ll show you just how strong I can be; no matter how crazy how bad I want you is making me, I will not be the one to reach out this time. If you never find the courage to speak first, my fate will soon be me, mad, wishing you had.

November 27th 10:19 a.m.: Dreaming of a life in Quebec City.

November 28th 8:19 a.m.: Today is a day that requires practice of loss.

November 29th 11:48 a.m.: Trying to be patient, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t beyond ready to see the world, experience new things, and most of all, get out of this environment I’ve been in for too damn long.

November 30th 9:29 a.m.: Once again I have allowed myself to fall into the rabbit hole of triviality obsession.
