Fall ’23 Daydreaming

Between the subtle ease in weather and dramatic change in hue, I, too, wish to find serenity and transformation within the anticipated arrival of fall.

For what I daydream merely burrows my passion more profound for what may come within the season to come:

  • Fall in love
  • Make a gingerbread loaf from scratch
  • Cook more homemade soups than I can count
  • Finish each book I’m currently reading
  • Have sunrise/sunset picnics weekly
  • Ride bikes to get coffee and a pastry (try not to fall off as much as I can)
  • Bake homemade cherry and pumpkin pie
  • Get a new tattoo (or several)
  • Go on art museum and café dates
  • Experiment with various coffee recipes
  • Take countless walks
  • Attend a tea party
  • Learn to sew
  • Buy (or make) a new pajama set and more jackets to love
  • Be more social
  • Take an excessive amount of candid polaroids
  • Get a pedicure with a neutral (but sparkly) color
  • Prepare for family birthday season
  • Have bonfires weekly
  • Go on a day/weekend trip
  • Make and/or go out for a luxury brunch
  • Be creative with fall crafts
  • Have movie nights with homemade snacks
  • Figure out what I’m doing with my life
  • Be curious
  • Be spontaneous
  • Exercise healthier self-talk
  • Paint a pumpkin
  • Forgive myself for spring/summer mistakes
  • Go to a pottery class
  • Find and buy a stripped knit sweater
  • Visit every farmer’s market possible
  • Decline a camping trip invite, opt for a cabin instead
  • Make caramel apple fries
  • Have a game night with a charcuterie board
  • Cook meals using various in-season vegetables
  • Accumulate my fall playlist
  • Write three times a week with every ounce of passion in my veins

As the wind softly weaves by, I wave to the rustling leaves, as they, too, eagerly await to be set free to their destined metamorphosis.
