A Tale From Two Cities

--

The rain has begun to slow

The streets glimmer in light from the city above

Almost as if two cities —

One atop the other;

Both rave of mayhem

It’s Saturday night

Who am I to complain of the inevitable weekly occurrence

As if clockwork?

Though,

If I must,

Who’s to blame for the wakeful doze

[Or lack thereof]

That I have come to encounter?

Dinner was closer to breakfast

As it showed itself as oatmeal and tea

And curse those who thought it a good idea to have the caffeinated and decaffeinated appear so similar
