Choosing a Shade

All is ambiguous and nothing is for certain.

What something is may never hold as much importance as how we perceive it.

Perceiving something as negative often becomes a downward spiral of insidiousness — distorting our beliefs, opinions, and thoughts/emotions towards others that can oftentimes be difficult to challenge.

Though, if we can perceive even the most menial of details as something of great use, we will never be down and out in the game of life.

Before I continue, I must point out that this excerpt is not another promotion of endless positivity, for this act itself can also easily turn into something of great insidiousness.

To be frank, sometimes terrible things happen, and reinforcing a mentality of constantly looking on the bright side will merely neglect our true emotions.

We must come to terms with the negative, not push it away. There is no escape to life’s adversaries and attempting to do so is merely another form of adversary — constantly on the run, paranoid of what is lurking around every corner.

I’ve come to understand, recently, that the world is hideously beautiful. It holds great derangement of ghastly individuals, terribly inevitable losses, and suffering beyond suffering. Though, this should not cause us to lose sight of what else it…
